One of the ways we do this in my store is through scent marketing. I want you to think of one of the last times you smelt something and it took you back to a place. Maybe you smelt cookies and it took you back to your grandma's kitchen because she makes the best warm, soft, and fluffy cookies. Or maybe even sunscreen which makes you think of the spring break vacation you took with your friends in college. A scent is a powerful tool.
In my store, we found a local scent marketing company and created a scent that is specific to my store. We choose to do our scent with essential oils but maybe you would prefer a candle. There is a variety of options to choose from that would be beneficial and unique to your store.
Once I chose the combination of oils that I thought represented my store the best I purchased commercial devices that spray my scent every 10 minutes. This really helps to create an environment that is unique to my specific store and leaves an impression on my customers. My customers are also able to purchase this scent up by my register. Not only does this marketing hack create a money source, but it also reminds the customer of your store every time they smell it. Repeat customers are the name of the game!
